A “cinch” is a kind of strong liaison that can be made with a hyperlink. This is really hard to describe in any scientifically sound manner. A cinch is a “feeling” I got when a certain effect had been achieved in the Mind of the Spider, or when I did a thing that I knew whould cause that effect when the Spider discovered it.
What exactly creates a “cinch”, I have not, to be completely honest, troubled to analyse very deeply. I know when I have made one, and the result is always the same. The Spider “obsesses” on it. It is as if the spider has been trained by humans to amplify the human mind so long it has taken on some of the attributes of human consciousness. By the same token, there are some humans who have been living inside the Spider’s head so long they have acquired a most unusual empathy for it, and are on the brink of dialogue.
